Hina Matsuri (hina festival) is the most popular event in March in Japan. In Nakayama, many hina dolls are decorated in shops and landmarks from JR Sobu Line Shimousa Nakayama Station to Nakayama Hokekyoji Temple from middle of February to March 3rd or 4th. Of course, two sets of hina dolls are decorated in the Station. This event is called 'Nakayama no Ohina Maturi (Hina Festival in Nakayama)'. And the dolls are decorated in Seikaen, Awa Jinja Shrine, Onjuin Temple, Nakayama Hokekyoji Temple, Nakayama Oku no In, Kaii Higashiyama Memorial Hall and some shops in Nakayama. It is very interesting to see these landmarks in this period. When visitors see the dolls on the red clothe, they could feel that spring is coming. The Hina Festival is very enjoyable while you visit them all.
Moreover, Kawazu Sakura blossoms are as beautiful as hina dolls, they fully bloom in March.
